BACKGROUND
The Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action (GAGGA) is a vibrant and diverse network, established in 2016, involving around 26 women’s funds, environmental justice funds, 42 NGOs, and 460 women-led community-based (CBO) organizations, joining forces to strengthen the nexus of women’s rights, gender, climate, and environmental justice at local, national, and regional levels in Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America, Europe and globally.
SUMMARY
The Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action (GAGGA) is seeking a consultant to conduct Mapping Research aimed at identifying areas for growth and analyzing the potential for scaling up GAGGA’s impact. This consultancy will explore new locations and thematic areas where GAGGA can deepen its support for feminist and environmental justice movements. The research will focus on GAGGA’s existing reach, the needs of movements in the Global South, and opportunities for expanding gender-just climate solutions.

SUMMARY
The Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action (GAGGA) is seeking a consultant to conduct Mapping Research aimed at identifying areas for growth and analyzing the potential for scaling up GAGGA’s impact. This consultancy will explore new locations and thematic areas where GAGGA can deepen its support for feminist and environmental justice movements. The research will focus on GAGGA’s existing reach, the needs of movements in the Global South, and opportunities for expanding gender-just climate solutions.
The selected consultant will conduct desktop research and interviews from November 2024 to March 2025, and will deliver a final report on the mapping study, along with a presentation and a webinar for GAGGA partners and allies.
Objectives:
Conduct a mapping study to
- i) identify areas of growth and
- ii) identify how GAGGA can deepen existing impact:
This would include:
- A mapping of existing GAGGA’s reach and its analysis
- An exploration to expand to new countries and areas (e.g. Central Asia, MENA, Caribbean) An analysis on what the needs of movements in the Global South are, as well as looking into the needs of strengthening cross-movement building
- An analysis of thematic gaps where GAGGA could deepen support
- A general overview of opportunities and limitations when considering the growth of GAGGA beyond 2025
- An analysis of existing thematic areas, constituencies, or programmatic activities that GAGGA could intensify and provide more financial and non-financial support
Deliverable 1: Mapping report including the areas mentioned above
Deliverable 2: Organization and facilitation of an open webinar sharing back the results of the mapping report to interested GAGGA partners, Alliance Members and Strategic Allies
Deliverable 3: Presentation with concise and accessible information on the research, having as a target audience existing and potential donors
