ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provide strategic and technical support for the integration of women’s empowerment and gender equality in the existing WFP programmes in the DRC.
2.Support the implementation of the WFP Gender Policy and Gender, Protection and Inclusion (GPI) Minimum Standards by ensuring that the project goals, objectives, processes and activities are gender sensitive and whenever possible, gender transformative.
3.Ensure that gender analysis is regularly updated and integrated into key programmatic documents, including project proposals, programme strategies and other frameworks
4.Provide policy advice on specific gender issues that impact on WFP
5.Provide assistance in data analysis, compiling lessons learnt and documenting progress and gaps related to achievement of gender equality through WFP programs.
6.Support field offices with development of risk mitigations tools, mappings and action plans to ensure that gender-related barriers and protection risks are identified and addressed.
7.Lead on sensitizing WFP staff and cooperating partners on safe programming taking into consideration gender and intersectionality.
8.Work closely with WFP’s Protection team to ensure gender-sensitized intake and escalation mechanisms, as well as community feedback and engagement.
9.Coordinate implementation of the Gender Action Plan through regular engagement with the gender focal points and heads of the units to support completion of the Gender Equality Certification Program by WFP DRC Office.
10.Lead on development and delivery of dedicated modules on gender equality to WFP staff, partners, and relevant stakeholder.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
- Carrying out at least 5 gender analyses to inform the programme, including nutrition, resilience and emergency activities.
- Improving the way in which gender is taken into account in all data collection and analysis processes, in collaboration with the RAM unit.
- Taking stock of the gender certification programme in the DRC, identifying progress and gaps and following up recommendations.
- Ensuring that gender issues are taken into account in the CSP Process, the drafting of project proposals and donor reports.
- Improving the way gender is taken into account in the CFM mechanism in collaboration with the national CFM committees.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Advanced University degree in one of the following disciplines: Social Sciences, International Development, Gender Studies, Political Science, Law, or a related field. Other Educational backgrounds may be accepted if relevant experience is demonstrated.
• Or First University degree in the same subject (s) with additional two (2) years of related work experience
• Minimum three (3) years of postgraduate professional experience focusing specifically on Gender in humanitarian contexts. Experience in GBV prevention and response an asset.
• Or First University degree in the same subject (s) with additional two (2) years of related work experience.
Fluency (C Level) in spoken and written French and fluency (B level) in English is required
