Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Intern will work closely with the Protection, gender and inclusion regional coordinator on the following tasks and objectives:

  • Contribute to development content and awareness sessions on the gender approach in leadership.
  • Liaise with the Reference Center for Institutional Emergency Preparedness in all learning and capacity building topics relationship with gender and leadership strategy implementation.
  • Support on the organization of trainings led by Surge or PGI in the frame of the strategic commitment and roadmap on gender equity for emergency operations.
  • Support the collection of inputs for the development awareness-raising activities within the framework of the strategic commitment and roadmap on gender equity for emergency operations.
  • Support the Americas Surge Desk in the deployment process of rapid response personnel to attend emergency operations in the Americas Region in PGI sensitization processes
  • Support in the mapping and monitoring of emergency operations including PGI activities in the region.
  • Support in the review of child protection analysis of emergency operations in the region in conjunction with the PGI officer
  • Provide support to different areas of HDCC
  • Other tasks that are not necessary identified but may be needed
Learning Outcomes

Enhanced Understanding of PGI Mainstreaming:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of how to integrate protection, gender, and inclusion (PGI) approaches into emergency operations, including the development of content and awareness sessions on gender leadership.
Project Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Develop skills in coordinating and collaborating with various stakeholders, such as the Reference Center for Institutional Emergency Preparedness
Training and Capacity Building:

  • Acquire experience in organizing and supporting training sessions
Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Learn to support the mapping and monitoring of emergency operations, including PGI activities, and participate in the review of child protection analyses


Requirements

  • University degree on Social Sciences, Political Sciences and/or related academic knowledge with gender and diversity.
  • Training related to PGI
  • 1 year Working experience or cooperation projects in PGI - GBV, Child protection or related;
  • Leadership experience;
  • In-country contextual understanding and operational experience;
  • Experience in capacity building and facilitating workshops and training;
  • First-hand experience with collecting and systematizing data;
  • Spanish, Spoken and Writing - Mandatory
