With staff in 18 countries and global headquarters in New York City, Outright documents human rights violations, helps resource LGBTIQ movements and allies, and advocates for the rights of LGBTIQ people.
 
Responsibilities
 
Operations Leadership & Support (35%)
  • Support the Head of Operations in all aspects of Outright operations, including, but not limited to, legal, financial, and institutional systems, and help solve the complicated problems a global human rights nonprofit may face.
  • Manage the functionality and efficiency of Outright facilities, including the Outright office in NYC.
  • Support on all aspects of Outright’s implementation of new tools and systems to improve efficiency and streamline operations, and when applicable, provide training and support to staff on the use of new tools and systems.
  • Serve as the point person on all internal insurances, including policy renewals, and claims processing.
  • Other projects, as assigned
 
Project and Event Management (33%)
  • In collaboration with the Head of Operations, serve as the organization's ultimate project management support, overseeing the planning and completion of external and internal projects.
  • Manage all back-end logistics for virtual and in-person events, including hotel room blocks, venue selection, catering, AV equipment, interpretation needs and transportation support.
  • Work with our travel agency and other vendors to ensure properly executed travel logistics for all of Outright’s events around the world.

Contracts, Budgeting & Policy Administration (32%)
  • With the Head of Operations, ensure that contracts align with the organization's best interests and comply with legal requirements, and serve as a point person on vendor management, overseeing vendor relationships, performance, and payments.
  • With Operations staff, serve as an expert on Outright policy and process, and steward policy and process fidelity to Outright staff and partners.
  • Support Operations team on internal infrastructure initiatives, such as technology upgrades, new systems and process improvements.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in an operations or event-focused role.
  • An understanding and passion for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) human rights in a global context
  • Strong and demonstrated history of organizational and project management skills.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and accuracy and demonstrated experience bringing order to complicated events
  • Understanding and experience in the nonprofit sector, with special considerations for those with global nonprofit experience
  • Strong experience managing and/or being the logistics point person for virtual, in-person and hybrid events
  • Experience and comfort reading and offering opinions on contracts
  • Strong financial acumen and basic understanding of budgeting and nonprofit principles.
  • Comfort with technology, with a strong desire to responsibly and ethically stay up to date with new technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
