Reporting to the Country Representative, the Planning and Coordination Analyst will provide support to the Country Representative in strategic programme planning, inter-agency coordination, resource mobilization and partnership building, as well as advocacy and communication. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide support to the Country Representative in strategic planning for the Guatemala Country Office:
  • Provide substantive inputs on the formulation of concept notes for UN Women's Economic Empowerment Area; as well as the office’s strategic note;
  • Provide inputs to the development of country programming processes and products;

2. Provide technical support to the Country Representative and Country Office on inter-agency coordination in topics related to economic empowerment, employment, statistics, environment and others assigned by the Country Representative:
  • Provide technical support to joint inter-agency UN planning processes and similar exercises;
  • Support the facilitation of dialogue between with public bodies (governmental, parliamentary, and judicial) private sector, think tanks, academia and and women's organizations to promote participation of women in the economy and decision making at all levels.

3. Provide technical support to the development of strategic partnerships and resource mobilization efforts:
  • Provide technical support to institutions at the national and local government, congress, women's organizations, and other related institutions to promote women’s economic participation in Guatemala.

4. Provide advocacy and communication support to the Guatemala Country Office:
  • Update the CO Annual Communication Strategy, develop content and ensure proper management on issues related to economic empowerment and economic autonomy of women of the CO website and social media channels;

5. Coordinate and support the area of Economic Empowerment in Guatemala:
  • Maintain communication with the working groups on economic empowerment, budgets and social protection of the regional office and the main office of UN Women; to promote knowledge management and dissemination of best practices and strategies for the promotion of women's economic and social rights, including south-south cooperation.

6. Facilitate knowledge building and sharing;
  • Provide support to the development and dissemination of good practices and lessons learned; ensure incorporation into programme planning.
  • Contribute to capacity building exercises, as necessary.
 
Required Skills and Experience
  • Master's Degree (or equivalent) in international development, public administration, public policy, Economics or other relevant social science field is required
  • A first-level university degree in Economics in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience working with inter-agency coordination and strategic programme planning processes; 
  • Experience in the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of programmes is required;
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required;
