About Equal Measures 2030 (EM2030):
Equal Measures 2030 (EM2030) is a coalition of leaders from feminist networks, civil society, and international development across the globe who connect data and evidence with advocacy and action on gender equality.
What you will Do:
Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will involve the following duties and responsibilities
Strategic planning, leadership, and management, as a member of the Leadership Team
Develop and deliver a strategic vision for the Development and External Engagement Department that advances the objectives of the EM2030 coalition,
Oversee the Development and External Engagement department and budget, and manage staff, vendors, and resources.
Contribute to broad organizational leadership and strategic development.
Ensure EM2030 has effective contact and relationship management (CRM) systems and processes to track and manage contacts and external engagement.
Forging philanthropic partnerships and fundraising to resource our collective work
Direct and lead philanthropic partnerships, fundraising, and donor stewardship for the coalition, with the objective of maintaining our annual revenues at around $3M per year, especially through grants from institutional funders (Trusts, Foundations, and Government donors) and high-net-worth individuals:
Lead on a fundraising strategy for the EM2030 coalition, including defining fundraising targets, identifying diverse and innovative funding sources, and developing fundraising processes and systems.
Collaborate with the Head of Finance and Operations to build financial projections and develop targets for financial sustainability.
External engagement and positioning to advance our coalition’s objectives
Ensure that the EM2030 coalition is visible and well-positioned externally as a leader working at the nexus of gender equality, data, and advocacy/activism.
Lead a collaborative process to develop and execute a strategy that will clarify our strategic positioning and build the coalition’s visibility, partnerships, and profile.
Develop and nurture high-level relationships with key external stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Experience you will need:
Significant senior experience in a comparable role in the not-for-profit sector, a social enterprise, and/or philanthropic organisations.
A passion for gender equality and women’s rights.
Proven track record of securing funding (in the region of $500k+ per year) from foundations, high net-worth individuals, and/or major donors.
Proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising and revenue-generating strategies that align with EM2030’s missions and objectives.
A track record of diversifying funding streams, including identifying innovative revenue opportunities.
Deep understanding of networking and external engagement strategies, tactics, and approaches that lead to high-level relationships with funders, and those who influence them.
Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills that include experience with remote collaboration, coordination, consensus-building, and working well with diverse groups within a global coalition.
An entrepreneurial mindset and proactive approach.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English.
