Key Accountabilities and Deliverables
Team Working
• Engage with and demonstrate commitment to AAUK’s mission, vision, values and strategic aims, and ‘My Feminist Behaviours’ (including adherence to our Code of Conduct).
• To undertake any other duties appropriate to the level in accordance to agreed procedures and guidelines.
• Proactively engage with the performance development approach, taking responsibility for seeking appropriate development opportunities and taking part in learning.
Strategic Development and implementation
• Work in close collaboration across teams in the PAP, Fundraising and Communications and Public Engagement Departments, to develop advocacy strategies and identify key targets for ActionAid’s women’s rights programmes
• Provide strategic input and sustained support in the development and implementation of an aligned resource mobilisation and influencing strategy in accordance to the new AAUK strategy.
• Ensure that ActionAid UK’s women’s rights advocacy messages, policy reports campaign strategies and external messaging are clear, coherent and have a strong likelihood of achieving success, notably on two of ActionAid UK’s thematic priorities: humanitarian; and on VAWG/GBV
Positioning development
• Identify key opportunities to promote ActionAid as a thought-leader on women’s rights , humanitarian response and international development, and agree/ implement action with relevant staff to take these forward.
• Together with technical and policy specialists, the Business Development and Programme Quality and Assurance Teams scan the horizon for opportunities to advance ActionAid’s programmatic, policy and resource mobilisation work on women and girls rights, notably on humanitarian response and VAWG/GBV
External relationship building with influencers
• Develop strong and constructive relationships with key decision makers across relevant national and international institutions.
• Help ActionAid UK to build and maintain a network of high-profile and influential women leaders and activists in support of our work.
Women’s rights network building
• Act as AAUK lead on women’s rights networks and membership organisations as they relate to both humanitarian response and VAWG/GBV
• In collaboration with women’s rights technical and policy advisers, BD and PQA teams, develop a network engagement plan aligned to AAUK’s new strategic objectives.
