Movement building Political participation
1. Introduction

Politics4Her is an intersectional youth-led organization dedicated to empowering young women and girls from Global Majority countries to participate actively in politics and decision-making processes. As we continue to grow and enhance our impact, we aim to establish an Advisory Board composed of experienced women who can provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and support to the organization. This intergenerational partnership will strengthen our work by combining the fresh perspectives of young feminists with the wisdom and experience of senior leaders.

2. Purpose of the Advisory Board

The Advisory Board will provide strategic advice and mentorship to Politics4Her in the following areas:
  • Strategic planning and organizational development
  • Fundraising and resource mobilization
  • Capacity building and leadership development
  • Strengthening governance and operational structures
  • Enhancing visibility and advocacy efforts
  • Providing a sounding board for new initiatives and projects

3. Role and Responsibilities
The Advisory Board members are expected to:
  • Attend four virtual meetings annually to discuss strategy, progress, and key organizational issues.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team on strategic, operational, and financial matters.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to the organization's leadership and members on capacity-building and professional development.
  • Support Politics4Her in establishing partnerships and networks that can enhance its visibility, influence, and access to resources.
  • Provide ad-hoc advice or support as needed, without the expectation of high time commitment.

4. Membership

The Advisory Board will consist of six (6) experienced women from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to the fields of politics, gender equality, climate justice, organizational development, fundraising, and social activism.

Criteria for Membership:
  • Proven experience and expertise in areas relevant to Politics4Her's mission.
  • A commitment to feminist principles and an understanding of intersectional issues.
  • A willingness to mentor and support young women leaders.
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance on various aspects of organizational growth.
  • Strong networks and the ability to leverage them for Politics4Her’s benefit.

5. Term and Commitment

  • Advisory Board members will serve a term of two years starting in 2025, which may be extended upon mutual agreement.
  • The role is voluntary as Politics4Her currently does not have core funding. However, the Advisory Board will play a crucial role in helping us strategize and secure core funding and resources to sustain and expand our activities.
  • The commitment involves attending four meetings annually, with additional ad-hoc consultations as needed. The expected time commitment is approximately 10-15 hours per year.

6. Governance and Operations

  • The Advisory Board will operate in a consultative capacity, providing guidance and recommendations to the leadership team of Politics4Her.
  • Decisions on the implementation of advice provided by the Advisory Board will be made by the leadership team, considering the input and recommendations from Board members.
  • An annual review of the Advisory Board’s effectiveness will be conducted, and feedback from both the Advisory Board members and the leadership team will be collected for continuous improvement.
