Gender-based violence (GBV)
Who are we?
Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is looking for a highly qualified Project Officer to support a multi-country project on generating evidence on gender-based violence and economic recovery integrated programming funded by United States Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration Department. The project is managed globally by DRC`s Global Protection Unit, Department for Strategy, Programme and Learning (SPL), together with Women’s Refugee Commission (WRC), and with in-country implementation from DRC and local partners in Jordan, Lebanon, Uganda, and Niger.
About the job
The tasks will include, but not be limited to:
Events planning and management:
- In collaboration with the Global Project Leads from DRC and WRC, and WRC´s Advocacy Focal Point based in Geneva, lead on the organisation of a global donor roundtable in Geneva, Switzerland.
- Liaise and coordinate internally, with donors, and other key stakeholders including local partners in the four countries of implementation.
- Be responsible for the administrative and logistical arrangements, including procurement, planning, organisation and follow-up of the donor roundtable.
- Communicate with the participants and arrange for travel, hotel and local transport arrangements for the donor roundtable and other events.
- Provide administrative and logistical support, including procurement, planning, organisation and follow-up of the donor roundtable and other events, meetings, trainings, workshops, and conferences.
Development of visibility products and workshop materials:
- Support the development of learning and visibility materials for the donor roundtable.
Project monitoring and Reporting
- Support with the development of documentation and reporting of the outcomes of the donor roundtables and other events.
- Monitor budget expenditures related to the donor roundtables.
- Other project/administrative related tasks
About you:
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in project management and mobilising and networking with a variety of stakeholders.
Required:
- 2-3 years’ experience in events and project management, including finance, logistical and administrative aspects. Experience and/or interest in matters relating to prevention and response to gender-based violence, forced displacement and women´s economic empowerment is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in communication, public relations, and the use of social media for a civil society organization.
- Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, Sharepoint, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills and ability to work effectively in a team consisting of a variety of different and diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in report writing.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to take initiative.
- Fluency in English.
