Gender-based violence (GBV)
 Job Description
We are seeking a diligent individual to conduct a comprehensive rapid assessment report to evaluate the current accessibility of information on available services and map out of service centers for survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in three regions: 
  1. Afar (Chifra Woreda)
  2. Amhara (Desie and Woldia cities)
  3. Tigray (Adigrat and Mekelle cities)
This role involves collecting data, analyzing information, and producing a detailed report on the status of services available to survivors of SGBV in these specified regions. The ideal candidate will have strong research skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting survivors of SGBV.


Objective
Evaluate the level of service provision (legal, psychosocial, health) to survivors of SGBV and effectiveness/satisfaction in reducing GBV.
The main objectives of this assessment are:
  • To assess the current situation of access to information on available services for survivors of Sexual and gender-Based Violence (SGBV) 
  • Enhanced awareness of available service among community members to ensure accessibility of holistic services to SGBV survivors. 
  • To promote and advocate for access to information on available services for survivors of SGBV and promotion of greater utilization on comprehensive services for  SGBV survivors
  • Improved access and enjoyment of holistic services available to SGBV survivors, which will address their specific needs regarding legal, social, physical and emotional well-being.

Deliverables
  • Prepare and submit technical and financial proposals in expression of interest to carry out the assessment, details of technical proposals (questionnaires, questions for interview and FGD’s)  how to effect the assessment, timeframe, etc.,
  • The working methods employed in order to complete the assignment and secure the quality of the completed work; 
  • The methods for data generation explicitly mentioned,
  • State the total cost of the assignment, and 
  • A proposed timeframe and working schedule,
  • Prepare and submit inception reports after signing contract with reflections on the ToR, 
  • Submit draft assessment report to AHRE for review and incorporate comments given on the draft by AHRE/ funding partner 
  • Draft and present PPT on the findings of the assessment and mapping of available services at the validation workshops that will be undertaken in the three regions (Semera, Mekelle and Kombolcha cities respectively) and collect inputs
  • Submit final comprehensive rapid assessment report incorporating valid inputs gained from the validation workshops.

Qualification and Experience Required
  • The consultant should have a master’s degree in law (LLM) or above in similar subjects. 
  • The Consultant/firm must have proven expertise in conducting research or assessments
  •  Advanced knowledge of gender equality gaps and national and international policies 
  • High level of written and spoken English and Amharic languages gender sensitive language use
