The Agency
Based in Vilnius, Lithuania, EIGE is a decentralised agency of the European Union (EU) entrusted with specific objectives envisaged to contribute and strengthen the promotion of gender equality.


Job profile and duties
The following tasks and activities are relevant to the duties of this post:
  • Support the design, planning, implementation and monitoring of a data collection processes on violence against women and domestic violence to comply with article 44 of the Directive, including with procurement procedures and contract management of external services;
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of assigned statistical activities, including the development of indicators and common standards for the data collection in accordance with Directive;
  • Engage with and assist the intersectoral consultations with the relevant national agencies together with relevant EU institutions and international organisations at the different stages of the development and implementation of the administrative data collection on violence against women and domestic violence;
  • Support the work on exploring and testing non-conventional data sources to fill in specific data gaps and generate new data and evidence on specific forms of violence against women;
  • Contribute to the development of new methodologies, to measure incidence of different forms of violence against women covered by the Directive, aiming to improve data accuracy and reliability or, when possible, assess how to obtain reliable estimates;
  • Provide the validation of primary data and data analysis;
  • Contribute to the production of quantitative and qualitative reports with the substance and frequency defined by the Directive, accurately and efficiently;
  • Carry out other related tasks as required by the needs of the Agency.

Formal requirements & selection criteria

To be considered eligible for selection, an applicant must, by the closing date of this call:
  • have a university degree[2]  which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a diploma when the normal period of university education is four years or more, or have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a diploma and appropriate professional experience of at least one year when the normal period of university education is at least three years;
  • have a good command, both spoken and written, of at least two official EU languages;
  • be a national of a Member State of the EU;
  • enjoy full rights as an EU citizen;
  • have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the national laws concerning military service, and
  • be physically fit to perform duties[3].
