Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) is a key priority for Tetra Tech, so that our solutions empower women, youth, Indigenous Peoples, people with disabilities, LGBTQI+ people, and other marginalized groups. The GESI Associate serves as a member of the GESI Practice Area and will be assigned duties by the GESI Director, or designee, in the areas of project management, business development, technical assistance, and thought leadership.
 
The GESI Associate will bring technical expertise to proposal and project teams in various roles  across the sectors of Agriculture and Economic Growth; Democracy, Rights, and Governance; Environment and Natural Resources; Land Tenure and Property Rights; and Water Security, Sanitation, and Hygiene. 

The position can be fully remote from a continental US-based location or hybrid within a commutable distance to either of our office locations in Winooski, VT or Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities:
* Participate in the proposal development process across sectors as lead tracker, proposal manager, or technical writer/contributor, demonstrating a thorough understanding of USG, USAID, and other clients’ GESI policies and priorities;
* Manage and oversee all aspects of a project, from start-up through close-out, with minimal supervision: ensure contract compliance in accordance with client and Tetra Tech requirements; develop and deliver technical deliverables to clients on time and with consistently high quality; engage and manage external consultants; work with the project team to create and manage project budget; and support and strengthen the capacity of project staff;
* Provide technical guidance, resources, and tools to integrate GESI into all projects, aligned with clients’ policies and priorities and international best practices;
* Develop GESI analyses, GESI integration plans and strategies, GESI training curricula, and GESI-responsive monitoring, evaluation, and learning tools for projects across sectors;
* Identify internal GESI capacity gaps and design and deliver strategies to meet them through resources, training, mentoring, and learning exchanges;
* Write position papers or communications material supporting GESI-related capabilities, and support efforts to solidify Tetra Tech’s GESI thought leadership, participating in relevant events and communities of practice.

Minimum Qualification:
* Minimum master’s degree in a relevant field, such as gender studies, international relations, international development, political science, anthropology/sociology, or another related field;
* Minimum five (5) years of professional experience required;
* Strong knowledge of international donor projects required; USAID donor project experience preferred;
* Expertise in gender equality, social inclusion, women’s empowerment, youth empowerment, LGBTQI+ inclusive development, Indigenous Peoples’ empowerment, social norms change, and gender-based violence;
* Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written deliverables, such as GESI analyses and strategies, with prior successful experience writing complex technical proposals preferred;
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and facilitate discussions on sensitive topics;
* Fluency in English required; advanced proficiency in a second language (Spanish, French) preferred;
* Current U.S. work authorization is required at the time of application.
