About Wangu Kanja Foundation:
Wangu Kanja Foundation (WKF) is a feminist, survivor-led, and experienced-informed non-profit national organization, established in 2005 and headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. Although our roots are in Nairobi, our work spans across all 47 counties in Kenya. The foundation was founded by Ms. Wangu Kanja, a Human Rights Champion with 18 years of experience in gender and development. WKF was born out of the personal challenges Ms. Kanja faced after a sexual violence ordeal, particularly in seeking justice. Today, WKF is dedicated to addressing sexual violence through prevention, protection, and response, aiming to restore the dignity of survivors and their families.

About the Program Manager Position:
The Program Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing WKF’s mission to amplify the voices, choices, and agency of survivors of sexual violence towards achieving gender justice.

As the Program Manager, you will lead the development of program strategies, work plans, and budgets, ensuring that these align with WKF’s strategic objectives and donor requirements. You will conduct needs assessments, stakeholder consultations, and research to inform program design and development. Your role will involve overseeing the implementation and coordination of program activities, working closely with project staff, partners, and consultants to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of services. You will also be responsible for monitoring program progress, addressing challenges as they arise, and implementing solutions to keep the programs on track.
In addition to program management, you will develop and implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks to track program performance and outcomes. This includes collecting, analyzing, and reporting on program data, using these insights to inform decision-making and improve program effectiveness. You will also build and maintain relationships with donors, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders, identifying opportunities for collaboration and resource mobilization to enhance the impact and sustainability of WKF’s programs.
The financial management aspect of the role will involve developing and managing program budgets in collaboration with the finance team, ensuring compliance with donor regulations and organizational policies. You will monitor program expenditures and prepare financial reports as required.
The successful candidate will be a person of high integrity, with a deep understanding of safeguarding ethics and a commitment to transparent decision-making. You should be a team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to facilitate teamwork, manage conflicts, and encourage continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the organization.
