Background:

Key Functions and Accountabilities:
Arrange for, supervise, and undertake production of video content for UN Women’s digital storytelling platforms, including corporate social media channels and website:

  • Research, pitch, produce, and film in-house video content;
  • Work with creative teams and external agencies to execute video content for high-profile campaigns; 
  • Facilitate filming and editing of high-visibility, external-facing video messages by senior leadership, as needed;

Guide the UN Women's photography portfolio

  • Ensure that video and photo are produced and packaged in complementary and engaging formats;
  • Provide guidance on photo guidelines and processes;
  • Together with the photo editor develop innovative approaches to multimedia content and provide related guidance to field offices.

Manage personnel, infrastructure, channels, and workflows to support video production and archiving:  

  • Manage relevant staff, consultants, and external vendors; 
  • Maintain and expand a roster of freelance video producers and vendors; 
  • Manage budgets, procurement, and contracts for production agencies and freelancers;

Facilitate capacity building and knowledge sharing on multimedia content and production and archiving practices: 

  • Provide relevant guidance to all personnel and implement policies on developing high-quality visual assets;  
  • Organize pieces of training for the Regional, Country, and programme offices as well as HQ staff on processes and recommended best practices pertaining to multimedia content, production, and archiving; 
  • Maintain and update relevant policy, procedure, and guidance documentation on video, including but not limited to releases, licensing, branding and archiving;
  • Stay up-to-date on common practices and standards for multimedia content, accessibility, and archiving within the wider UN System.

Strengthen and expand UN Women’s visual storytelling profile: 

  • Collaborate with Photo Editor, Social Media, Editorial, Branding, Campaigns specialists, and others to elevate and refine UN Women’s visual storytelling and strategy;
  • Explore new distribution channels and partnerships to expand the reach of UN Women’s video content; 
  • Stay up-to-date on innovations, standards, and best practices for video production.

Perform other duties within the functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organisation.

Education and Certification:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Audit, Finance or related field; 
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Professional audit certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered/Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or equivalent professional audit certification is required;
  • A minimum of five years of experience in producing videos for social and digital channels.
  • Fluency in English is required
