ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To support harmonization of best practices across the macroinsurance portfolio, the consultant will be in charge of adapting and developing a facilitator guide and materials package for the Simulation Exercise in various contexts. This deliverable requires understanding of both the macroinsurance program and WFP operations. This task would entail coordinating with the global CRI team, other WFP units, and consultations with COs as needed.
2. With the expansion of the macroinsurance program to new countries and the increased need for training to COs, the consultant will help the global CRI team organize and deliver (FIP) simulation exercises as well as trainings of trainers, in relevant countries.
3. To ensure sustainability of WFP’s climate risk insurance programs, the consultant will support the global team in its integration efforts with relevant WFP programs and teams/units
4. Under the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) proposal, the consultant will support the various tasks planned for 2024/2025 such as conducting gender analyses with a climate lens in 2 countries, and utilizing the results to 1) make the response planning and implementation better aligned to the specific needs of women and girls; and 2) translate some of the findings of the country-specific analyses to other countries to help them undertake the same.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
1. Adapt and develop a facilitator's guide and relevant workshop materials for the Simulation Exercise in another context
2. (FIP) simulation conducted in at least one (1) country
3. At least one (1) Training of trainers conducted
4. Ensure the gender-smart ARC Replica workplan is on track and provide support to across activities/deliverables

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Advanced degree in an area related to social sciences, economics or similar is required
-  Between 6 and 10 years of experience in programme management and implementation support.
- At least 5 years of work experience in the climate risk insurance space (inclusive/ microinsurance, mesoinsurance or macroinsurance).
- Demonstrated ability to present information and ideas and to communicate technical content effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to conduct  effective meetings, listen to others and engage in dialogue on complext, context specific matters.
- Experience working in developing countries.
- Demonstrated analytical and writing skills and data collection experience.
- Experience in establishing contacts and liaising with partner organisations.
- Ability to take initiative and work independantly while in a team. 
- Knowledge of WFP or UN procedures a plus. Languages:
- Fluency and excellent writing skills in both English and French is required
