Summary & Responsibilities
The Center for Intimacy Justice is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualitative Research Consultant to lead a significant research project with a major international agency partner. The project is regarding how content creators of sexual health information experience content moderation and digital suppression on Big Tech platforms– particularly for creators that serve youth through sexuality education information. The project involves interviews of 30-40 creators (including NGOs) and will include writing a report of findings. The project focuses on understanding the experiences, challenges, and needs of specific populations in relation to digital censorship of sexual and reproductive health content/information. The role requires a deep understanding of qualitative research methodologies, ethical research practices, and the ability to manage complex international research projects. This role will report to and work directly with CIJ’s Head of Digital Suppression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research Design and Methodology:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive qualitative research design that aligns with the project's objectives.
  • Employ qualitative methods such as in-depth interviews, focus groups, and case studies to gather detailed data.
  • Ensure that all research activities adhere to ethical standards and secure necessary approvals from Ethical Review Boards.

  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Lead and coordinate the data collection process, ensuring inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.
    • Oversee the use of translation services to facilitate research in multiple languages.
    • Conduct rigorous qualitative data analysis to identify key themes, patterns, and insights.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Conduct outreach to a diverse range of stakeholders, including educators, policymakers, and community members, to gather varied perspectives.
    • Potentially facilitate focus groups to ensure comprehensive data collection.

  • Reporting and Dissemination:
    • Prepare a detailed report, presenting findings in a clear and well-presented manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in conducting qualitative research, including designing qualitative studies, data collection, and analysis.
  • Excellent writing skills and proven ability to create well-written research reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively when interviewing and communicating with diverse stakeholders.
