Gender-based violence (GBV)
The Early Stalking Awareness Intervention (EASI) aims to reduce further stalking behaviours and associated offending through improved the psychological wellbeing of would-be perpetrators, as well as increase victim confidence in the police. The project is commissioned by the Home Office and is a muti-agency initiative between West Midlands Police, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, Black Country Women’s Aid, and university researchers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. To manage research participants through appropriate methods.
  2. To assist in inputting the results of questionnaires.
  3. To contribute to the analysis and reporting of the collected data in written and verbal form to the research team.
  4. To contribute to the writing and verbal dissemination of any onward research outputs and policy notes in collaboration with or supported by colleagues across the wider team.
  5. To contribute to the management of the research project, including the planning of project.
  6. Work positively with colleagues in the research team and other collaborators and partners and support staff on routine matters both inside and outside the University.

General Duties:

• To ensure the use of data complies with current regulations, particularly those relating to GDPR.
• To comply with all health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures at all times and to take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare and protection of others.
• To advocate, promote and advance equity and social justice within your work
• To support and contribute to achieving the University’s student recruitment and retention objectives.
• To carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post, as may reasonably be directed by your line manager after due consultation.

Qualifications & Professional Memberships Assessment Method

  1. BSc or MSc degree in related discipline (e.g., Psychology, Policing, or Criminology).
  2. Quantitative research methods and use of database systems for research purposes.
  3. Experience of processing medium sized volumes of data.
  4. Analysis and interpretation of quantitative sources of data.
  5. Awareness of, and adherence to, data security procedures including General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  6. Knowledge and experience of data management and data handling.
  7. Basic knowledge of survey research design, administration, and data collection.
  8. Ability to use computer-based programs including skills of database navigation and functions within Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Windows and SPSS.
  9. Ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships.
  10. Ability to handle varied tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  11. Excellent organisational skills.
  12. Willingness to undertake appropriate staff development and training.
