Gender-based violence (GBV)
The Early Stalking Awareness Intervention (EASI) aims to reduce further stalking behaviours and associated offending through improved the psychological wellbeing of would-be perpetrators, as well as increase victim confidence in the police. The project is commissioned by the Home Office and is a muti-agency initiative between West Midlands Police, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, Black Country Women’s Aid, and university researchers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- To manage research participants through appropriate methods.
- To assist in inputting the results of questionnaires.
- To contribute to the analysis and reporting of the collected data in written and verbal form to the research team.
- To contribute to the writing and verbal dissemination of any onward research outputs and policy notes in collaboration with or supported by colleagues across the wider team.
- To contribute to the management of the research project, including the planning of project.
- Work positively with colleagues in the research team and other collaborators and partners and support staff on routine matters both inside and outside the University.
General Duties:
• To ensure the use of data complies with current regulations, particularly those relating to GDPR.
• To comply with all health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures at all times and to take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare and protection of others.
• To advocate, promote and advance equity and social justice within your work
• To support and contribute to achieving the University’s student recruitment and retention objectives.
• To carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post, as may reasonably be directed by your line manager after due consultation.
Qualifications & Professional Memberships Assessment Method
- BSc or MSc degree in related discipline (e.g., Psychology, Policing, or Criminology).
- Quantitative research methods and use of database systems for research purposes.
- Experience of processing medium sized volumes of data.
- Analysis and interpretation of quantitative sources of data.
- Awareness of, and adherence to, data security procedures including General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Knowledge and experience of data management and data handling.
- Basic knowledge of survey research design, administration, and data collection.
- Ability to use computer-based programs including skills of database navigation and functions within Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Windows and SPSS.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Ability to handle varied tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Willingness to undertake appropriate staff development and training.
