Moonshot is currently working on a TFGBV  project in Kenya and Guatemala. As part of this work, Moonshot is seeking the services of a researcher/analyst to assist in the creation of a Lexicon (a glossary of words or phrases) of the TFGBV language. The Lexicon will contribute to the generalized knowledge base for future learning and interventions. The lexicon will include TFBGV-related terms in English, Spanish and Kiswahili languages. This consultancy may include consulting with our local partners in Kenya and Guatemala to ensure the English Lexicon is adapted for localized additions. 

Scope of Work 
A. Contribute to the design of the research methodology for the Lexicon 
  • a. Support the finalisation of the research design (including methodology, data collection, consultation methods and timeline) (estimated 3 days work) 
B. Develop an English language Lexicon through 
  • a. Deskbasedresearch. Research types of TFGBV language from trusted sources (academic journals, partner organizations, UN, etc.) (estimated 5 days work) 
  • b. Open-source intelligence on locally relevant platforms (estimated 5 days) 
  • c. Arisk categorization matrix to establish to what degree a post is TFGBV (Adjacent to, relevant to, a direct reference to TFGBV). (estimated 1 days work) 
C. Create a draft English Lexicon (estimated 5 days work) 
D. Support the development of localized Lexicons. This will include adding country-specific TFGBV language (Guatemala and Kenya) 
  • a. Working with Moonshot staff and local partners to develop localized versions of the lexicon (estimated 8 days work) 
E. Produce a draft Lexicon report: (estimated 5 days work) 
  • a. Introduction (1 page)
  • b. Lexicon 
    • i. Background on TFGBV (1 page) 
    • ii. Terms and Phrases (15-20 pages) 
  • c. Annex1Methodology (1 page) 
  • d. Annex2 Bibliography 
F. Integrate feedback and deliver final Lexicon (estimated 1 day work) 

Deliverable 
● Lexicon of TFGBV terminology 

Experience 
● Experience in qualitative research and OSINT 
● Experience in Gender Based Violence (including TFGBV) 
● Proven experience in developing manuals and training materials. 
● Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality written reports. 
● Excellent communications skills (written and oral) in English
