Technical support and oversight

  • Provide technical support to GBV programs, including assisting with strategy development, program start-up, and capacity building.
  • Provide technical quality assurance for the development and implementation of GBV and SRH integrated programming at national, regional and global levels, in line with NCA´s Programme Framework.
  • Lead efforts to strengthen capacity among GBV teams at NCA´s country offices to enhance the integration of key SRH elements within the GBV programs, with a special focus on adolescents.
  • Oversee programme implementation to ensure timely delivery of programme activities.
  • Integrate GBV prevention, response and risk-mitigation considerations across all sectors of NCA’s work, supporting integration with other thematic areas.

Safeguarding standards and systems

  • Stay informed about new trends and developments related to SRH to ensure that the organization’s systems and procedures remain up to date.
  • Work closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation team to establish GBV sector M&E plans, ensuring this is linked to reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to development of technical resources, policies, research and learning activities

Coordination, advocacy and grant acquisition

  • Represent NCA in relevant global humanitarian SRH coordination forums, advocating for integrated approaches to GBV and SRH in humanitarian settings.
  • Support both Head Office and NCA country offices with resource mobilisation efforts in developing GBV thematic portfolio.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in developing proposals for relevant donors (both private and public). Ensure that SRH considerations are integrated into these proposals.
  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and case studies to shape in-country strategies and sector-wide learning.

Qualifications

  • University Degree or equivalent in social work, social science, gender studies, (nurse/midwife) in public health, social scientist, health systems/economics, or other field directly related to the substantive area identified in the title of the post.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in GBV/SRH programming, of which 2 years should be from the field.
  • Strong track record of technical leadership, and proven ability to produce demonstrable results.
  • Proven solid experience in comprehensive sexuality education and life skills-based curriculums on SRHR, family planning and safe motherhood programming is essential.
  • Must be familiar with the sector approach, M&E methods and approaches, logical framework approach and strategic planning.
  • A thorough understanding of the human rights dimensions of reproductive health and gender is an asset.
  • Experience working to strengthen health systems is an asset.
