Introduction:
Pan Africa ILGA is seeking an exceptional and experienced Human Resource Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be crucial in transforming our human resource functions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and driving our dedicated sta 's e ective management and professional development. Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment and Selection:
• Manage the entire cycle of recruitment and selection processes.
• Review job descriptions, post openings, screen candidates, and conduct interviews.
• Ensure a positive candidate experience and efficient onboarding processes.
2. Staff Development:
• Design and implement performance management, staff development, and succession planning.
• Conduct training needs assessments and coordinated training and development initiatives.
• Implement strategies for employee retention and career development
3. Employee. Relations:
• Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues.
• Manage employee disciplinary and grievance procedures.
• Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement initiatives.
• Ensure timesheets are submitted timeously.
• Draft staff contracts for review and approval by the Executive Director
4. HR Policy and Compliance:
• Review existing policies and make recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations.
• Keep abreast of changes in legislation and update policies as necessary.
• Conduct HR Audits to evaluate the effectiveness of HR policies, practices, and systems.
5. Performance Management:
• Develop and implement performance management systems and processes.
• Monitor and evaluate performance management outcomes.
• Guide managers on setting goals and conducting performance reviews.
6. Legal Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
• Manage HR-related risks and legal issues.
• Work with legal counsel on HR matters as needed.
7. Ethics and Code of Conduct:
• Ensure adherence to the organisation’s Code of Conduct and ethical standards.
• Promote ethical behaviour and integrity across the organisation.
8. Qualifications and Skills:
• Matric/ Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3 years) in human resource management, preferably in the NGO sector.
• Proficiency in Sage and MS O ice Suite.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
