Gender-based violence (GBV)
 NORCAP’s mission is to improve aid to protect and empower people affected by crises and climate change. With expertise in the humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding sectors, we collaborate with local, national, and international partners on finding solutions that meet the needs of people at risk. 

Specific responsibilities: 

Project Management
  • Ensuring that budgets and operational goals and action plans are developed and that the teams deliver on these.
  • Delivering the project/programme objectives within the parameters: time, cost, quality, scope, benefits, and risk
  • Ensuring regular internal reporting on financial and operational results as well as on progress from teams.
  • Reporting to donors Ensuring analysis, knowledge sharing and advocacy from relevant projects/teams.

Strategy & Programme Development
  • Developing and implementing strategy/strategic plan for the relevant thematic area.
  • Operationalisation of relevant strategic objectives in NORCAP’s strategy and  implementation 

Risk assessment and mitigation actions Ensuring cross-collaboration and capturing and implementing learning across teams and sections 

Human Resource Management
  • Responsible for line management of direct reports, including performance management and budget responsibilities, for team members, in relevant project teams.
  • Responsible for resource allocation to selected teams, in close collaboration with other operational managers and heads of units across NORCAP as needed.
  • Ensuring timely reporting of security incidents  and ensuring team compliance with security policies, guidance and procedures. 
  • Duty of Care for all experts on mission within selected projects. 

Partnership & donor relationship management
  • Identifying, developing, maintaining, and quality assure key partnerships, including preparing and coordinating relevant annual meetings. 
  • Fundraising to deliver on the thematic programme strategy, including donor engagement and development of thematic input to donor proposals.

Team management
  • Responsible for the set up and closure of teams following NMT decisions, 
  • Responsible for managing relevant team(s), including planning, day-to-day activities and mentoring of team members. 

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience 
  • At least a minimum 3 years of relevant Management/Leadership experience   
  • Relevant postgraduate or professional qualification (i.e. Masters degree). Extensive work experience may substitute this requirement. 
  • Knowledge and experience of working with HR processes and managing people 
  • Experience of working in complex and volatile contexts desirable 

Context related skills, knowledge and experience: 
  • Documented results related to the position's thematic areas and responsibilities. 
  • Knowledge of NORCAP key donors, including strategic priorities, organisational setup and funding mechanisms, is a clear advantage. 
  • Experience from working with UN agencies, preferably knowledge of humanitarian coordination/UN cluster system is an advantage
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal 
  • Additional language(s) preferred 
  • Knowledge of standard ICT office support systems
