Responsibilities
Relationship Building
  • Plan and develop the program implementation in South Africa by liaising with local partners (especially local and national education authorities) and following-up and monitoring on the plans that are already in place.
  • Communicate and liaise regularly with relevant stakeholders, representing the organisation as first point of contact and answering any queries regarding projects in South Africa.
  • Keep very close contact with in-country partners to ensure Think Equal’s reputational excellence and delivery of Think Equal’s mission

Program Administration and Coordination
  • Source and liaise with printers and couriers to obtain quotations, print books and resources as per Think Equal’s requirements, and deliver as per deadlines in different areas and languages.
  • Coordinate with the operations teams regarding translation processes, to ensure that materials are ready in line with implementation timelines.
  • Liaise with international staff and volunteers for the translation, printing, quality check and delivery of books, training and programs to the schools in South Africa

Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Support the Africa Programme Manager and the Global Programme Director with the creation and delivery of reports to be provided for South African projects. This includes updating the Monday.com platform, budget reports, reporting progress at team meetings and sharing reliable information in a timely manner for Board reports and other documents as needed.
  • Support the implementation of Monitoring Evaluation & Learning (MEL) tools, tasks by implementing partners and other key stakeholders when necessary as part of active projects.
  • Support the development and strengthening of actions and provision of  useful information for the longer-term sustainability of the Think Equal projects and for its ongoing internal learning process, which can include closed and active projects.

Experience
  1. Degree or equivalent
  2. At least 2+ years of professional experience
  3. Experience in administration or similar working environment with an international organisation
  4. Experience in program implementation

Knowledge and understanding
  1. An understanding of the challenges of implementing an international programme of education as well as an ability to respond to those challenges creatively – essential
  2. Exhibit passion and excitement about the mission of the work and have a can-do attitude – essential.
  3. Works with independent flair and entrepreneurial spirit and is creative in surmounting obstacles - essential
  4. Maintain stable performance under heavy pressure - essential.
