Role Overview:
As the Trusts and Foundations Lead, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial sustainability and growth of The Fawcett Society by securing funding from trusts and foundations. You will manage the entire lifecycle of trust and foundation fundraising, from prospect research and pipeline development to application submission, relationship management, and reporting. This role will require close collaboration with the Head of Policy and Campaigns and the CEO to develop proposals that align with our strategic goals. Joining at an exciting time as we implement our new 5-year strategy, this role will be pivotal in making our ambitious plans a reality.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prospect Research: Identify and research potential trust and foundation funders whose priorities align with The Fawcett Society’s mission and strategic goals.
• Pipeline Development: Develop and manage a robust pipeline of trust and foundation prospects, ensuring a steady flow of potential funding opportunities.
• Application Management: Lead the end-to-end process of preparing and submitting high-quality funding applications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with funders’ criteria.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with trust and foundation contacts, acting as the primary point of contact for all trust and foundation-related communications.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit timely and comprehensive reports to funders, demonstrating the impact of their support and ensuring compliance with grant conditions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Policy and Campaigns and the CEO to develop compelling proposals and align fundraising activities with organisational strategic goals.
• Compliance: Ensuring all work is delivered in line with compliance and good practice. Particular focus should be on charity law, GDPR and the Codes of Fundraising Practice
 

Person Specification: Essential Skills,

Experience and Competencies: 
• Fundraising Expertise: Proven experience in securing funding from trusts and foundations, with a strong track record of successful applications. 
• Research Skills: Ability to identify and research potential funders effectively. • Pipeline Management: Experience in developing and managing a pipeline of funding opportunities. 
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling and persuasive funding proposals. 
• Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with funders and internal stakeholders. 
• Reporting: Proficiency in preparing detailed and accurate reports for funders. 
• Digital Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems, Microsoft, and digital tools to deliver and manage fundraising activities.
