Purpose of the Position

Strengthen the visibility, positioning, and impact of Women's Link Worldwide as a global organization by creating effective digital content, supporting internal and external communication, participating in the development of institutional messages, and analyzing data to make informed decisions on social media matters. 

Key Responsibilities

Management of Social Media and External Contact Platforms (50%):

  • Manage interactions with the digital community and foster public engagement. 
  • Oversee the organization's email inbox and general contact point, ensuring messages are prioritized and maintaining smooth and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Analyze data and metrics to present a monthly report on social media to the institutional development and communications team, assessing the effectiveness of content. Make adjustments under the supervision of the Senior Communications and Advocacy Officer. 
  • Manage an external contacts database or maintain an organized contact management system as part of overseeing the email inbox and general contact point. 

Content Creation (40%): 

  • Create and manage digital content for social media and the website, ensuring alignment with our brand, goals, and institutional messaging. 
  • Manage the organization's monthly email newsletter, including content creation, design, and basic video editing. 
  • Maintain an editorial calendar for significant human rights dates, both internal and external, and be proactive in creating content for these occasions. 

General Communications Support (10%) 

  • Assist in creating institutional messages, including talking points and press releases. 
  • Participate in both in-person and digital events, contributing to content creation in various formats before, during, and after the evvent. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and competences to work with us

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in Communication and Marketing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (native level) and Spanish (advanced level).
  • Keen sense of design, including an eye for impactful typography, color, visual composition, and layout.
  • Proficiency in WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, and video editing software.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics or other analytics tools to evaluate communication impact.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality; well-organized; ability to work within collaborative work timelines.
  • Ability to work independently and suggest creative ideas.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment and support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively communicate progress and potential obstacles.
  • Capacity to work with different cultures and time zones.
  • Integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of WLW.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the nonprofit sector and/or in a mission-driven organization. Experience in a transnational organization.
  • Experience in one of the organization's areas of work (reproductive justice, gender-based violence, or intersectional discrimination).
