SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Program Assistant (PA), Consultant is responsible for providing administrative, program, and management support to the Subnational Governance Program (SNGP). The PA consultant also provides support in other program areas as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review monthly reports of Provincial Coordinators for GEDSI-related updates at the field level and prepare an analysis of to include in the quarterly and annual reports.
  • Review partners’ reports and consolidate GEDSI updates and progress to include in the quarterly and annual reports.
  • Prepare contracts for partners, contractors, and vendors.
  • Follow-up on the finalization of partners’ GEDSI Action Plan in close coordination with the team and its timely submission.
  • Convene GEDSI Taskforce bi-weekly meetings and set agendas.
  • Assist in organizing periodic reflection sessions for the program team and Provincial Coordinators to assess the progress and impact of GEDSI initiatives within the program.
  • Assist in maintaining close monitoring and documentation of project indicators related to outcomes, intermediate results (IR), and output levels, ensuring timely data collection, data validation, and reporting.
  • Prepare periodic updates on GEDSI for the implementing partners and program team.
  • Assist the Communication focal to identify, prepare, and disseminate relevant GEDSI-related updates and progress.
  • Assist to monitor and analyze disaggregated data to ensure inclusivity and effectiveness of program interventions.
  • Assist the task force in integrating GEDSI considerations into program events, discussions, and Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) activities.
  • Conduct quality checks on partner organizations' quarterly reports to ensure accuracy and alignment with the project’s GEDSI objectives.
  • Assist in organizing logistics for program-related activities, including meetings, workshops, and reflection sessions.
  • Coordinate and manage logistical arrangements for GEDSI-related events.

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal

Extensive interaction with members of the subnational governance team, governance partners, consultants, and other program units within the Foundation, as well as with the Finance, People and Culture, and Administration units of the Foundation.

External

Regular contact with partner organizations, civil society organizations, professional organizations, and academic and other local institutions

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in development studies, gender studies, international relations, public policy, political science, economics, law, or other relevant discipline.

Experience

At least two years’ experience working in the development field. Experience in monitoring years of research and learning. Relevant experience in development assistance.

Other

Knowledge of governance and Gender Equality, Disabilities, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Nepali, and ability to harmoniously interact with people from a variety of cultural and professional backgrounds. Experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, and analysis. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet). Time management skills, ability to work under pressure and multi-task. Willingness to travel to districts across the country. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
