At the British Red Cross, the safeguarding of the people and communities we work with – particularly vulnerable groups - is paramount. We want to ensure that people’s rights to dignity, respect and health are respected.

A Day in the life of the PSEA Officer
The IFRC's Safeguarding Hub is an online platform for sharing tools, learning and research, operational knowledge, status reports and programme resources for practitioners. You will be instrumental in its development and maintenance (an initiative supported by the British Red Cross for the benefit of the IFRC network).

You will be a key member of the Safeguarding Hub Working Group. Here you will work with key stakeholders to manage and produce compelling content, including relevant learning, resource materials and advocacy communications. You will ensure that the platform communicates effectively with its audiences. You will also be the primary contact for helpdesk requests and will coordinate and support webinars and events hosted by the Hub.

Your work will contribute to ensuring children and adults feel safe to participate in Red Cross and Red Crescent programmes in all regions globally. That they feel safe to report a Sexual Exploitation & Abuse (SEA) concern; and concerns are appropriately responded to.
You will work with Safeguarding/PSEA focal points in National Societies in the network to strengthen foundational systems and culture for safeguarding. You will work with the International PSEA Adviser and other stakeholders to support the development of systems, tools and resources.

You'll work in close collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies. With occasional visits to their offices in Geneva.
