About The Position

Reporting to the WPHF Programme Coordinator (P3), the Programme Analyst contributes to the effective management of the WPHF’s Regular Funding Cycle in Africa and the Arab States as well as the Food Security Portfolio by providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation and evaluation. The Programme Analyst guides and facilitates the delivery of the WPHF programme by monitoring results achieved during implementation and ensuring appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary.

Duties And Responsibilities Competencies
  •  Contribute technically to the development of programme strategies in the area of Women, Peace and Security and Humanitarian Action for WPHF in Africa and the Arab States 
  • Provide substantive inputs to the design and formulation of (multi-) country call for proposals and thematic initiatives such as food security;
  • Identify areas for support and intervention related to the programme.
  •  Provide substantive technical support to the implementation and management of the WPHF Regular Funding Cycle in Africa and the Arab States in the area of women, peace and security and humanitarian action
  • Support the coordination of Calls for Proposals, including the organization of information sessions, the organization of technical review committees;
  • Support the evaluations of project proposals incl. long and shortlisting in English, French and Arabic;
  • Draft reports on coordination calls, monitoring missions, programme results, outputs and outcomes.
  •  Provide technical assistance and capacity development to partners of the WPHF Regular Funding Cycle in Africa and the Arab States and in close cooperation with the WPHF L-Hub
  • Coordinate and provide technical support to Management Entities in the implementation of the WPHF portfolio;
  • Maintain relationships with UN Country Offices to support implementation and expansion of the WPHF programme;
  • Identify opportunities for capacity building and trainings for partners, including through the Fund’s Community of Practice and Learning Hub;
  • Coordinate the development of knowledge management methodologies, and products on Women, Peace and Security and Humanitarian Action as well as its links to food security.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field is required;
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting;
  • Work experience with programmes implemented in Africa and the Middle East is required.
  • Experience in programmes or policy related to women, peace and security and humanitarian action is required.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
