Youth
Gendered Intelligence (GI) is a trans-led organisation and most members of the team are trans. We feel strongly that there is not one way of being trans, and there are many different ways and approaches to help GI achieve its aims. We imagine a world where diverse gender identities and expressions are visible and valued and where trans, non‑binary and gender questioning people live healthy, safe and fulfilled lives.

Service Delivery
- Respond to and communicate safeguarding concerns from the youth work team
- Deliver 1-1 work with young people in complex circumstances, or who are deemed most at risk in the service, in collaboration with the Head of Youth & Families and the other Youth Work Senior Practitioners.
Reporting
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly reports on Youth Work activities
- Compile quantitative and qualitative data for evaluating GI’s youth services and residential programs
Meetings
- Assist the Head of Youth and Families in planning and conducting Youth and Families Services meetings, including annual safeguarding training/workshops
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings
Networking & Communications
- Participate in national LGBTQ and Youth Work network events and represent the Youth Service as needed
- Maintain communication within the youth work team and broader GI team, and build professional relationships with young people and external agencies
Training & Development
- Attend mandatory safeguarding training and relevant CPD programs
- Design and deliver training/workshops within the youth service and to external organisations when necessary
Person Specification

Essential/Strongly Desired
- Relevant experience and qualifications in youth work provision and delivery in LGBT voluntary sector and/or mainstream services. (This could include an NVQ level 3, certificate level 4, or degree in youth work youth & community work, play work, health and social care, mental health, education, community arts etc. It could also include significant experience working in youth work settings and being in charge of young people’s spaces even if you don’t have a formal qualification.)
- Significant experience of facilitating diverse groups of young people
- Experience managing a team and adeptly handling aspects such as teamwork, relationship management, shared responsibilities, conflict resolution, and other team-related challenges
- In-depth experience of working with young people, including supporting with wellbeing and mental health
- Experience working on high level and sensitive safeguarding cases with colleagues, young people and external bodies
