Gender-based violence (GBV)
Background
The International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) is developing and implementing a system-strengthening project to address intersecting violence against women and girls. This embedded action research initiative aims to bolster violence prevention strategies in two districts of Jharkhand and enhance ongoing efforts by the government and civil society organizations (CSOs) to prevent and mitigate violence against girls and women. This strategy aims to improve girls' education, prevent child marriages and trafficking, and boost their agency and aspirations in the state.
Under the project, ICRW proposes to conduct a data analysis exercise on the categories and prevalence of GBV among different socio-economic groups, the utilization and effectiveness of GBV prevention and response services in India and the state of Jharkhand particularly. The review will include identification of different national and state level data sources, examining trends and patterns at the national and state level, and exploring thematic and reporting gaps within the data. This will include looking at the National Family and Health Survey (NFHS) data , as well as  survey and programmatic data from other organizations. The review will aid our conversations with the government, help us identify entry points and shape the next phase of project activities.
ICRW is seeking the support of a consultant to undertake this data-mapping and analysis exercise. We expect the consultant to independently produce high-quality initial drafts of related documents. This assignment will significantly depend on the consultant's conceptual and analytical skills.
