Key Responsibilities:
AYSRH and Gender Program Management and Leadership:
- Develops and implements strategies to improve access to comprehensive SRH services for adolescents and youth, including applying positive-youth development approach and in recognition of intersectional experiences of adolescents and youth.
- Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff, fostering a culture of learning, accountability, and excellence in AYSRH and gender programming.
Technical support and guidance:
- Provides technical guidance and support on gender-responsive programming, ensuring that interventions address the unique needs and challenges faced by adolescents and youth.
- Stays up-to date on global best practices, new developments, and emerging issues in gender and AYRH that affect ACCESS priorities.
Project implementation:
- Leads efforts to promote gender equality and social inclusion within SRH programs.
- Advocates for policies that support equitable access and rights.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborates with stakeholders to identify barriers to AYSRH and gender equality and develops innovative solutions to address them.
- Contributes to annual work planning, training plans, quarterly reports and other required technical reports.
Required Education and Work Experience:
- Master's degree in public health, gender studies, social work, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SRH programming, with a focus on adolescent and youth populations.
- Demonstrated expertise in gender-responsive programming and advocacy, particularly in the context of SRH.
- Fluency in verbal and written English
- Experience working with international donors, particularly USAID-funded projects.
- In-depth knowledge of adolescent and youth SRHR global best practices.
- Experience in designing and implementing AYSRH programs, with a focus on marginalized and underserved populations.
- Strong understanding of gender dynamics and the intersectionality of gender with other social determinants of health.
- Familiarity with gender-responsive programming principles and best practices in SRH.
Preferred Competence and Work Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in SRH programming, with a significant focus on adolescent and youth populations.
- Prior experience in multi-country program management and working in cross-cultural environments.
- Ability to use data and evidence for decision-making, including monitoring and evaluation of program outcomes.
