Movement building
As the oldest international women’s fund in the world, Mama Cash works to ensure that feminist collective action led by women, girls, and trans and intersex people is resourced, supported and connected within and across social movements. With a head office based in the Netherlands (and a growing number of staff based remotely), the organisation uses their role as a feminist funder, their experience of supporting feminist activism, and their geopolitical location to mobilise and move funding to feminist initiatives and groups. They do this by working in partnership with other feminist organisations, women’s funds, and social justice grant makers and donors
THE POSITION:
Grants administration
Responsibilities include:
- GOAs liaise with the finance team when coordinating contract/disbursement processes and due diligence and supports the tracking of disbursement progress and any issues that arise.
- Works with the Finance Department and Programme Officers to assess potential risks for grantee partners receiving our funding, and elaborate transfer and contracting procedures that are responsive to the threats experienced by the activists we work with.
- Tracks and monitors all grantee-partner administrative, contracting and reporting information.
- Provides timely responses to requests for administrative information and assistance from grantee-partners and Programme Officers.
- Organises and arranges translation and interpretation support for Programme Officers
- Schedules regular LME check-in meetings between grantee-partners and Programme Officers.
Database Management and Administration
Responsibilities include:
- Supports the design and implementation of Salesforce database management solutions in collaboration with the IT team.
- Manages Salesforce templates and logs, monitors and tracks grantee partner administrative reporting on Salesforce with an eye towards ensuring integrity of data, confidentiality, harmonisation and quality control of sensitive data.
- Extracts appropriate grantee-partner data from Salesforce, and analyses reports as needed.
- Actively pursues opportunities to improve Salesforce and grant management operations by troubleshooting and resolving issues.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of social and environmental justice, and the rights of intersex people, trans people, girls and women.
- University level degree or equivalent administrative/organisational experience.
- Lived experience of resisting injustice and/or other forms of systemic oppression (including but not limited to sexism, racism, homoantagonism, trans-antagonism, classism and disablism, and their intersections).
- Knowledge of human rights, social justice, environmental justice and/or (funding) feminist movements.
- Experience with Salesforce, or a similar database management programme.
- Knowledge of grantmaking processes and procedures including project planning, evaluation, budgeting, workflow management, contracts management, grant monitoring and reporting, and document management.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills. Proven English proficiency in written and spoken communication and fluency in another of Mama Cash’s working languages (Spanish, French, Russian or Dutch). Priority will be given to candidates fluent in Spanish.
- Preferably based in the Global South and/or East and with experience working remotely across time-zones and in a multicultural environment. Priority will be given to candidates working from or with experience in the Americas and Caribbean.
- Detail orientation and organisational skills as well as an ability to perform in a fast- paced, deadline-driven and largely remote environment.
