The Equality Fund is transforming the way that resources—and power—flow into the hands of girls, women, and trans people worldwide. Designed by feminists for feminists, it is a model for sustainably resourcing feminist movements everywhere, through global grantmaking, gender-lens investing, policy advocacy, and feminist philanthropy. Launched in 2019, the Equality Fund has committed $53 million to date and is supporting 650 organizations working in 90 countries globally.


SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES    
Supports grantmaking cycle  
  • Researches prospects, prepares briefs on priorities;
  • Develops engagement strategies to support relationship building including leveraging individual supporters, other philanthropic institutions, or representatives of our government partners;
  • Drafts proposals, coordinating timelines and soliciting input across teams as required;
  • Liaises periodically with grant managers;
  • Coordinates the preparation of timely, high-quality reporting to donors, monitoring and anticipating the reporting cycles, and engaging across teams for input;
  • Identifies donor stewardship opportunities, including sharing milestones, events, and reports to support donor connection and awareness of our work;
  • Monitors grant cycles, anticipating and supporting strategies for renewals;
  • Supports event outreach and represents EF on occasion at external donor meetings and events.

Salesforce & Data Coordination
  • Manages donor data, inclusive of donation entry, relationship mapping data, and donor interactions;
  • Generates regular donor reports and analysis including projected revenues, where the relationship in the grant cycle, donor pipeline, and new prospects;
  • Liaises with Salesforce Advisor to ensure database design meets team needs.

Team and Organization-wide initiatives, planning, and support 
  • Participates in events such as team meetings, Town Halls, retreats, and planning exercises
  • Supports cross-team events,initiatives, and committees as needed
  • Acts in accordance with our policies around building a culture of safety, respect, and care; never engage in harassment, coercion, sexual exploitation or abuse of any form, or anything else contrary to our code of conduct.


QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES 
  • At least three years of progressive fundraising experience in the not-for-profit sector, with a track record of establishing meaningful relationships with philanthropic institutions;
  • At least two years of experience writing successful proposals and reporting to philanthropic donors;
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills;
  • Values-driven with an understanding of feminist issues and advocacy;
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite as well as communication platforms such as Zoom and MailChimp and customer relationship management software such as Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce;
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to organize and manage various deadlines and priorities while guiding strategic fundraising goals;
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of donors;
  • Demonstrated high ethical standards, tact, and ability to work with sensitive information in a confidential manner;
  • Ability to work on cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Flexible and adaptive, able to respond effectively to changing and complex circumstances;
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, complex environment;
  • Commitment to the work and values of the EF, in particular, the values of gender equality and shifting traditional power systems;
