Movement building
Copenhagen Pride is a volunteer-run organization that organizes events with a focus on LGBTI+ human rights, politics, social inclusion, culture, performance and freedom of expression and assembly. We are part of a global movement with more than 2,000 Pride organizations worldwide.
Our best-known events are Copenhagen Pride week in August and Winter Pride in February, but we organize events all year round. Approaching our 30th anniversary in 2026, today we are known worldwide for our events, including WorldPride in 2021. We are proud to deliver an event that Forbes magazine described as “iconic”.
Job description
Job description
The communications coordinator's tasks fall within four main areas: media relations, social media, website and live communication of events. The tasks are as follows:
In collaboration with our agency partner HAVE Kommunikation, you will be the frontline in the day-to-day management of our reactive media relations. This includes taking calls and emails from journalists, negotiating access and writing press releases and briefings.
You will also be responsible for our proactive media relations, where you pitch stories for print, online, radio and TV, also in collaboration with HAVE Communications.
You will regularly be asked to write short and long articles for publication in Danish and English, often on behalf of the organization or a colleague.
Plan and schedule posts on all Copenhagen Pride's social media channels according to the content plan.
Respond to comments and messages in a timely manner.
Manage content on Copenhagen Pride's website, including adding new content and editing existing content.
During Copenhagen Pride events – mainly Winter Pride in February and Pride in August, but also other events throughout the year – you lead and manage all Copenhagen Pride communications.
You will manage our paid and volunteer photographers and videographers and our media library at Canto.
Help recruit, train and manage volunteers to support communications activities, particularly during our event live periods.
