JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Manager of Communication will be spearheading the formulation, planning, and execution of communication strategies across various levels. This role serves as a communication liaison between internal and external stakeholders, collaborating closely with multiple programmes, departments, and enterprises to integrate gender mainstreaming, disability inclusion, and Shomotontro campaign - an initiative aiming to evolve into a nationwide movement to combat patriarchy, along with other pertinent GJD components. Furthermore, the Senior Manager will oversee communication, programme development, design and implement a communication strategy aimed at motivating stakeholders to champion gender equality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate communication work plans for GJD aligned with BRAC's gender and disability strategies, Shomotontro campaigns, and other relevant components.
- Generate and execute creative ideas to advance gender mainstreaming, disability inclusion, and Shomotontro campaigns.
- Collaborate with BRAC programmes/departments for gender mainstreaming communication and disability inclusion activities.
- Design networking and public events for Shomotontro campaigns while ensuring the development of gender-sensitive promotional materials.
- Develop and manage social media plans to consistently post content on designated accounts.
- Create sector-specific communication plans and ensure timely delivery of final products.
- Supervise and support the team, fostering an inclusive culture and encouraging innovative approaches to address gender equality challenges.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Deep understanding of gender equality issues and programmes in Bangladesh.
- Strong grasp of communication strategies and techniques.
- Ability to incorporate gender equality into communication materials effectively.
- Skilled in leadership, decision-making, and research methods.
- Capacity for innovation to enhance performance.
- Attributes including creativity, integrity, teamwork, and proficiency in both Bangla and English, with excellent networking and interpersonal skills.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Masters in Mass Communication/ Journalism/ English/ Public Relations/ from a recognised university.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the relevant field, including expertise in developing effective communication strategies and engaging with national and international communication platforms, networks, alliances, and coalitions.
