ABOUT UNDP

SCOPE OF WORK, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED WORK
1. Identify and analyze gender gaps to inform and develop strategies for gender equality programming, including in the context of crisis response and recovery
2. Support in establishment and maintaining of strategic partnerships and resource mobilization for gender equality and women empowerment programmes
3. Support in gender sensitive, gender responsive and gender-transformative development programming; manage Gender component of the Country Office programme, portfolios, and projects
4. Provide technical and strategic advisory services, capacity development and facilitation of knowledge sharing on a gender sensitive/ responsive/ transformative programming
5. Support in evidence and knowledge generation and development via research and analytics on gender equality and women empowerment aspects.

  • 1. As a member of the CO management team, identifies and analyzes gender gaps and opportunities to inform and develop strategies for gender equality programming, including in the context of crisis response and recovery.

  • 2. Supports in establishment and maintaining of strategic partnerships and resource mobilization for gender equality and women empowerment development and recovery programmes [when necessary, in collaboration with the Management Support and Business Development Teams], 

  • 3. Support in gender-sensitive/ responsive/ transformative development and crisis recovery programming and operations.

  • 4. Provision of technical and strategic advisory services, capacity development and facilitation of knowledge sharing on a gender-sensitive/ responsive/ transformative programming.

  • 5. Support in evidence and knowledge generation via research and analytics on gender equality and women empowerment aspects.

Successful applicants should:
  • Have a Master’s degree with a minimum of five years’ experience in the respective field relevant to the ToR or possess seven years’ experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Be prepared for potential deployment to crisis settings with short notice.

Additionally, specific preferences include:
  • Proficiency in Arabic, French, or Spanish, with Russian and/or Portuguese considered advantageous.
  • Encouragement is particularly extended to female applicants. In addition to candidates from the Global South.

Qualification:
Master’s Degree or equivalent in gender studies, social studies, humanities, political sciences, international relations, or related field.
