Duties:

The Fundraising Intern will support Fundraising & Marketing colleagues with a range of tasks, including research, writing and development of fundraising materials. There will also be occasional support needed with administrative tasks. Duties will include:

Individual Giving

  • Managing and responding to enquiries to the Supporter Care inbox with excellent stewardship and supporter communication
  • Writing articles for the bi-annual supporter newsletter
  • Supporting Community & Events fundraisers (esp. International Women’s Day, 8th March and London Marathon)
  • Providing admin support (eg. scanning Gift Aid declarations, updating mail preferences)

Digital fundraising

  • Work closely with the Digital Fundraising Manager to deliver digital fundraising campaigns. Activities could include updating website and email communications, responding to enquiries from supporters and external stakeholders, analysing data and tracking results
  • Support the delivery of Womankind’s email strategy which includes writing, and designing compelling supporter emails that keep Womankind supporters and donors inspired and informed
  • Assisting in the planning and production of impactful online content such as videos, social media posts, blogs etc. which support digital fundraising and communications. Working with the communications team to ensure every output is on-brand.

Trusts and Foundations

  • Researching trusts and creating donor profiles, aiding in the creation of a cultivation pipeline
  • Supporting the biannual Small Trust Mailing and reporting to givers
  • Supporting the schedule of 6 month and annual reporting to trusts

Statutory & Institutional

  • Supporting researching and building relationships with other women’s funds
  • Creating summaries of existing Womankind work and projects to share with donors and for use in proposals across the F&M team
  • Supporting Womankind’s engagement with donor networks including the Alliance for Feminist Movements and the EDGE Funders Network.

Philanthropy

  • Supporting the 2025 Gala event
  • Supporting upcoming webinars and in-person cultivation events for external stakeholders
  • Researching prospects for corporate and major donor income streams

Cross-organisational initiatives

  • Supporting the development of Womankind's Case for support in line with our new strategy
  • Working with Programmes and Fundraising colleagues to research and implement a new grant management system
  • Participate in cross-organisational initiatives and groups – such as cross-organisational project groups – as agreed with your line manager and required.

  • Strong IT skills & digital literacy (Word, Excel, Social Media channels etc)
  • Strong interpersonal skills (verbal, listening, written etc.)
  • Ability to prioritise, schedule, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills

  • Fluent in English, including written English
