Americares Partnership with Women's Health to Wealth in Ghana:
Americares partners with Women's Health to Wealth in Ashanti and Bono region of Ghana to run 50 Girl's Clubs. Gender based violence has emerged as a critical issue so Americares is seeking an external consultant content expert to support WHW to strengthen their engagement with key stakeholders and the community in addressing GBV as relates to the Girls’ Club program.
Consultancy Deliverables:
- Assessment tools for competency level of facilitators and health staff in the management of reported cases of GBV.
- GBV PowerPoint to share with facilitators and students to help them understand the concepts of physical, emotional, sexual abuse; and to empower teachers to respond appropriately to cases of abuse and students to report to the appropriate agencies of any case of abuse.
- Identify context specific posters to disseminate in schools and referral health facilities.
- Develop key indicators to track in supporting WHW assess the roles of the key stakeholders from all agencies and institutions involved in fighting sexual and gender base violence against women and girls in the districts.
- The consultant will conduct desk research and virtual data collection including interviews with key community stakeholders and local organizations in Kumasi, Ahafo Ano South West, and Dormaa East to assess previously shared indicators. A report/where methodologies/approaches to be used in the manual will be expected as a deliverable.
- Report with clearly indicated pathway for girls who have been victims of GBV to ensure adequate management of the physical and mental health, as well as ways to obtain legal recourse.
- Report provided to WHW and Americares outlining recommendations for a potential next phase of the project.

- Assessment and analysis skills, particularly with evaluating the competency level of facilitators and health staff in the management of reported GBV cases
- Demonstrated competencies in developing and implementing GBV training, as well as creating plans for community sensitization and engagement in GBV work
- Ownership and the ability to work independently
- Teamwork and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders from the community to government partners
- Results oriented with the ability to communicate findings to Americares and WHW
- Report writing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
