The range of responsibilities and duties of this role will include the points below, although priorities may change in line with the development of the service. Once in post you will:
- respond to telephone calls, WhatsApps and emails from patients who are currently in the care of, or on the waiting list for our GIC partner clinics; some of these calls and messages might come from people in distress or difficult situations
- support the development, introduction and facilitation of online groups and workshops
- understand the existing SLS resources and manual and continue to grow the knowledge base of information for trans people, (mainly across England but also UK-wide, and sometimes international)
- attend SLS and Youth and Communities department meetings where required

- Attend safeguarding training and refresher sessions, as well as other relevant staff development and learning programmes
- To bring GI’s “3P’s” to your work – Professionalism, Positivity and Passion, and to take a non-judgmental approach to everyone you work with external and internal to GI
- To reflect the wider values of the organisation such as:
- being open to an ethos of collaboration and working together
- to recognise the positive aspects of trans lives
- to stand up for trans people, especially young trans people.
- Work within Gendered Intelligence’s policies, ensuring these are carried out in relation to the job, in particular:

- Behave in accordance with Gendered Intelligence’s codes of conduct, Equal Opportunities Policy and ensure Equal Opportunities principles are incorporated into the planning, delivery and monitoring of services.

Essential/Strongly Desired
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (report writing, record management, emails)
- Communicate with tact, sensitivity and care with those who engage with GIs services
Experience
- Experience collaborating within a team and adeptly handling aspects such as teamwork, relationship management, shared responsibilities, conflict resolution, and other team-related challenges
- Experience of front line support service delivery with adults and / or young adults
- Experience facilitating groups or relevant transferable skills / experience
Knowledge
- An in-depth knowledge and intersectional understanding of a range of trans experiences
- A knowledge of gender identity clinics and NHS gender health care pathways in England
- Good working knowledge of safeguarding practice with young people and adults
