This is an exciting opportunity to join our Support Services team and support thousands of mothers and parents each year. Our HR Advice Line and Email Advice service are volunteer led, with the Advice Line open for calls Monday-Friday, from 9am-3pm and 6-8pm. Our volunteers are all HR professionals, able to offer free HR advice to mothers and parents experiencing pregnancy, maternity and parental discrimination at work. 

The Advice Service Officers will lead the day-to-day running of our HR Advice Line and Email Advice services, supporting a team of volunteers and managing the accompanying administration. 
 
Key responsibilities:
  • All Advice Line and Email Advice service administration, including managing volunteer and advice data, supporting the Head of Support Services with reporting data and responding to general enquiries. 
  • Acting as the main point of contact for our team of volunteer helpline and email advisors. This includes onboarding new volunteers, answering queries, coordinating shift rotas, and providing regular check-ins and supervision. 
  • Monitoring our volunteer communication channels, responding to all volunteer queries.
  • Supporting our Head of Support Services and EDI Manager to deliver our volunteer training programme.
  • Leading the recruitment and onboarding of our volunteer advisors, delivering regular onboarding sessions, training and ongoing support of new volunteers.
  • Working alongside the Support Services team to develop and implement a volunteer stewardship plan that encourages retention and improves the overall experience for all Support Service volunteers. 
  • Supporting other Support Services projects where necessary.
 
Person Specification:
Essential
  • Passionate about creating the best possible experience for service users and volunteers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience in an administrative role/s, either paid for or voluntary.
  • Able to remotely build rapport and engage a variety of people. 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced organisation, managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to plan your own work, use your initiative and meet deadlines.
  • Confident presentation skills.
  • A strong commitment to Pregnant Then Screwed mission.

Desirable 
  • Experience managing or coordinating volunteers.
  • Knowledge of HR law or previous experience in a HR role.
