●      Work closely with the Directors, managers and colleagues from across the organisation, YAP, as well as the people who draw on our services and key stakeholders, to develop this new role and meet our strategic objectives.
●      Lead on the development, review and improvement of monitoring & evaluation frameworks and systems for projects and services, in collaboration with staff, external stakeholders and the people who draw on our supports.
●      Ensure appropriate systems of qualitative and quantitative data collection are in place, accessible and used effectively, sharing learning and upskilling teams to ensure consistency and accuracy
●      Coordinate, compile, analyse and share data in an accessible and engaging way, highlighting trends and learnings, to inform continuous improvement and performance planning, and ensure we meet the needs of our beneficiaries and our strategic objectives.
●      Extract and present information in various forms for use in external engagement, communications and fundraising and monitor compliance and progress against funding and donor agreements.
●      Develop and use a range of data capture methodologies, including conducting and supporting others to conduct focus groups and engaging with service users and our community online and in person
●      Represent Mermaids at the Trans Learning Partnership, and with other key stakeholders, improving sector wide data collection and building on the knowledge base of our community.
●      Ensure all data capture, retention and deletion is compliant with legal systems and in line with GDPR

General Responsibilities

●      Conduct the duties of the job description in accordance with the operational policies of Mermaids, including, but not limited to, the diversity, confidentiality, and code of conduct policies.
●      Adhere to Mermaids safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR policies
●      Maintain good working relationships with other staff members, volunteers, and stakeholders.
●      Contribute to the general administration and delivery of all Mermaid programmes, events, and overall objectives.
●      Always manage your own time effectively and ensure attention to detail.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required such as attending and supporting events and residential weekends when requested


 QUALIFICATIONS & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
  •  Collaborative capability with the ability to build relationships and engage with diverse and dispersed teams and stakeholders, in a remote setting.
  •  A skilled and self-motivated individual, able to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, able to manage competing demands with attention to detail. 
  •  Commitment to the values and purpose of Mermaids and ensuring equity, diversity, access and inclusion across all of our work. 
  •  Knowledge of and ability to apply qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods and a range of tools including CRMs to capture and analyse these.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR legislation.
