Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and visualize data
The Data Analyst will be responsible for gathering data from a social monitoring software, cleaning and organizing it for analysis. Additionally, they will analytics platforms such as Power BI to effectively visualize the data, creating interactive dashboards and clear presentations. This analysis will enable the identification of key trends, patterns, and opportunities that will assist in strategic decision-making for the organization.
- Engage external stakeholders in feedback and analysis
The Data Analyst will work closely with external advisors and stakeholders to thoroughly understand the collected data, actively seeking input and perspectives to incorporate their feedback into the data analysis process.
- Lead internal stakeholders in review and analysis of data
The Data Analyst will lead internal stakeholders in the review and analysis of data, taking the initiative in coordinating and facilitating internal stakeholder discussions and analysis sessions. By effectively leading these efforts, the Data Analyst will ensure that data is thoroughly examined, interpreted, and discussed among internal teams.
Knowledge and Skills
- Required Contextual Understanding
- A comprehensive understanding of the contextual factors shaping movements within Albania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lebanon, Lesotho, Libya, Mongolia, or Thailand. This includes socio-political dynamics, historical events, power structures, policy frameworks, and current developments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and at least one of the following languages: Albanian, French, Swahili, Arabic, Sesotho, Mongolian, or Thai.
- Data Analysis Techniques
- Proficiency in quantitative/qualitative data analysis methods, including statistical analysis, data mining, text analysis, and sentiment analysis.
- Ability to apply appropriate analytical techniques to socio-political data sets to uncover patterns, trends, and correlations.
- Data Visualization
- Skilled use of Tableau, ggplot2, or Python libraries such as Matplotlib and Seaborn to create compelling visual representations of data for reports and presentations.
- Communication and Storytelling
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex findings and insights to diverse audiences.
- Ability to create clear and concise reports, presentations, and data-driven narratives that resonate with stakeholders.

- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to International Relations, Political Science, Economics, or fields closely related to Social Sciences.
- Demonstrated experience in applied, mixed-methods research including leading qualitative data collection.
- Proficiency in data management, data cleaning, and data analysis techniques.
- Experience in working with analytics plaforms such as Power BI and Meltwater.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a related role.
- Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in data analysis, such as Python or R.
