PROJECT BACKGROUND
Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) safeguards are fully integrated into GGGI’s Project Cycle Management. All staff have signed GGGI’s Code of Conduct and have been trained on GGGI’s GESI policies. GGGI has recently increased its GESI ambition in alignment with GGGI´s GESI Strategy for 2021–2025, which includes the implementation of Gender Equality and Poverty Reduction Policy Markers on all projects and the implementation of an Environmental, Social and Governance Safeguards toolkit guiding mainstream environmental, social, and governance considerations in all workstreams. GGGI has also launched a new institutional policy and guideline for inclusive events and knowledge processes committing to at least 30% women representation.
DELIVERABLES AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE
The consultant will contribute to the achievement of these products:
- Detailed Word document written in English containing a work plan with activities, dates, and methodology 12%
- 3 GESI Assessments and recommendations for Concept Notes. A detailed Word document that describes Mexico’s situation and suggested recommendations for closing gender gaps related to
a) Financial inclusion of SMEs led by women and other vulnerable groups
b) Women and other vulnerable groups participation in e-mobility initiatives
c) Women and other vulnerable groups participation in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)
3. A report describing the technical advisory activities provided to NAFIN and a monitory system

4. Best Practices Guide for GESI Mainstreaming
EXPERTISE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Sustainability, Gender Studies, Economics, Statistics, or another relevant discipline.
- Excellent research and analytical skills and the ability to assimilate and process information on a wide range of issues are essential to this role.
- Experience collecting data for use in decision-making, strategic planning, research, and other purposes.
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience with an emphasis on working with both public and private sector stakeholders as well as community groups to develop policies, strategies, and/or projects to provide strategic technical guidance on GESI integration targets, preferably in developing countries.
- Good command of spoken and written Spanish and English is required.
