With staff in 18 countries and global headquarters in New York City, Outright documents human rights violations, helps resource LGBTIQ movements and allies, and advocates for the rights of LGBTIQ people.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works closely with Outright programmatic staff to conduct required  due diligence for grants under consideration including:  reviewing proposals and budgets to ensure compliance with internal and external policies and nonprofit law as well particular requirements or restrictions connected to specific grant programs
  • Supports Outright programmatic staff through the the grantmaking process, and once a grant is awarded, through the monitoring and post-award stages
  • Works closely with OutrIght programmatic staff to guide grantee partners through the operations end of the grantmaking process, as well as monitoring the progress and deliverables of all grants through the pre-award, award, and post-award stages
  • Drafts grant agreements for review by the Global Grants Director and other relevant staff as needed including in Finance and Operations
  • Works closely with other Global Grants Program team members and relevant Program Managers to review and prepare the quarterly or other periodic  reports as required, including ensuring all deliverables are ready in a timely fashion 
  • Conducts analysis of grants data and prepares summary visualizations  Senior Staff, Board and programmatic staff
  • Works closely with Finance and Operations to prepare grant award and payment letters, and ensure timely and accurate grant payments
  • Participates in ongoing efforts within the Global Grants Program Team and with Finance and Operations to improve and streamline OutRight’s grantmaking policies, workflows, and procedures, and guide program staff through policy transitions
  • Contributes to continued enhancements to Outright’s grants application system and other systems related to grant making
  • Leads and/or participates special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of three - five years of experience conducting similar work
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and collaboratively with many stakeholders, and manage multiple projects, while being a committed team player
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand organizational budgets
  • An orientation toward self-starting, proactive anticipation of team needs, and creative problem-solving
  • Willingness to learn from mistakes
  • An understanding and passion for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) human rights in a global context
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with proficiency in another language desirable
