  • Develop, drive, and adapt annual and multi-year strategic plans to proactively advance the organization’s fundraising goals
  • Lead, develop, coach, and manage fundraising teams in  Community Philanthropy, Foundations and Government Partnerships, Individual Philanthropy: Planned Giving and Major Gifts, Corporate Partnerships, and Development Operations 
  • In partnership with other organizational teams, maintain and strengthen relationships with current donors and partners to increase gift size, frequency, and retention
  • Directly manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects,  including relationships with institutional and corporate partners.
  • Partner with the Executive team to cross-functionally create annual revenue generation plans that include existing, renewable, increasing, and expanding new streams of funding.
  • Work closely with the CEO and Board Chair to build a pipeline of competitive and diverse board candidates and create a robust Board development plan that ensures Board members are trained to engage in donor cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Provide strategic oversight on donor materials and external stakeholder communications.
  • Provide regular analytic reports for the CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors that synthesize financial health and revenue forecasts.
  • Continuously monitor and innovate the prospect management process to enhance cultivation and solicitation activities for restricted and unrestricted revenue streams.
  • Ensure strong departmental systems and processes are in place to support quality donor management, stewardship, and best-in-class fundraising practices.
  • Ensure integration of the individual, corporate, and foundation prospect bases while leading and participating in prospect approach and strategy development.  
  • Oversee the organization’s grant and report writing, including coordinating the process with the appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Support the Executive Team and Board in appropriate fundraising activities and help drive robust results.
  • Develop clear cross-departmental processes that foster collaboration and create an understanding of and appreciation for the development function.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven success leading $30M+ fundraising campaigns 
  • Strong track record  building teams, coaching for performance, and retaining talent
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective forward-thinking revenue-generation strategies and ensure timely delivery of revenue targets
  • Entrepreneurial, energetic, resilient, and grounded leadership style that inspires and motivates a team
  • Ability to effectively select, train, coach, and provide professional development opportunities for a team of 30+ fundraising leaders
  • Comprehensive experience in all aspects of national fundraising campaigns including strategy, donor research, outreach, messaging, budget management, and donor cultivation
  • Demonstrated ability to secure  individual, corporate, foundation, and government grants and donations of $1M+
  • Track record of developing a culture of philanthropy across an organization including engaging staff at all levels to actively support development-related goals and activities  
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and closely with staff at all levels of the organization, inspiring and fostering external collaboration and partnerships 
  • Demonstrated proactive problem-solving skills with a proven ability to multitask and work well within tight timelines
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written Englis
