Gender equality and Social inclusion (GESI)
The ideal candidate will bring at least 3-5 years of relevant administrative, co-ordination, and/or project management experience, ideally within a development or international context. Experience working in Asia or with partners in Asia will be considered an asset. We seek a resourceful individual who can take the initiative, multi-task, have an exceptional aptitude for organization, problem-solving, keen attention to detail, and possess excellent communication skills.
Major Responsibilities
Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) 50%
- Lead the integration of gender-responsive and inclusive MSME-related research and monitor relevant public policies, trends and emerging gender equality issues.
- Oversee the production of gender-responsive research papers, workshops, briefs, presentations, and other programming to ensure fulfillment of the project’s Gender Equality Strategy and gender-responsive outcomes.
- Assist the Senior Research Specialist with implementing a gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation framework to evaluate project activities.
- Prepare project reports, action plans, policy briefs, recommendations and communication materials that support poverty reduction, gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.
- Contribute to gender-responsive budgeting in collaboration with the Senior Program Manager and the Senior Research Specialist
- Assist the Senior Program Manager with procurement in the development of gender-responsive and inclusive procurement processes, including drafting scopes of work and terms of reference and participating in selection and contracting with sub-contractors and consultants.
- Support with the co-ordination of the Project Advisory Committee, including identifying gender equality experts to join the committee, in collaboration with the Senior Program Manager and the Senior Research Specialist.
- Assist the Senior Program Manager in coordinating and managing gender-responsive and inclusive meetings, consultations, and partnership events, including conferences, roundtables, workshops, and training sessions with leaders and experts from Canada and other APEC economies.
- Provide ongoing gender research support and analysis throughout the project’s planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Applies GESI perspectives to project co-ordination and administration.
Project Co-ordination and Administration 50%
- Contribute to Project meeting agendas, materials, speaking points, and presentations, including convenings such as the APEC Small and Medium Enterprise Working Group and APEC Business Advisory Council, by working with the Senior Program Manager and Senior Research Specialist.
- Coordinate and support reporting to the project donor, including annual and semi-annual reports, work plans, financial forms and reporting, and other documents.
- Maintain an updated and organized project management information system with project tasks and milestones.
- Communicate internally with the Project Team and APF Canada’s staff, executive leadership, and Board, and externally with project stakeholders, academics, experts, and government representatives, including drafting letters, emails, and other communications materials.
- Support with scheduling and minute-taking for internal and external meetings.
- Collaborate with functional teams (research, communications, and finance) to leverage their expertise to enhance the Project activities and outputs.
- Contribute to writing and compiling reports, materials, and updates for other APF Canada Staff and the organization’s Board and leadership.
- Other tasks and event logistical support on the ground may be assigned from time to time.
