We are based out of New Delhi and support clients along the entire cycle of policy formulation – from developing well-researched policy positions to building communications and advocacy strategies. We work across sectors such as tech policy, social policy and urban affairs. 

Role Description:

As a Gender Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to undertake and supervise research and data-driven analysis for crafting knowledge products to aid gender responsive policy making. You will collaborate closely with policymakers, academia, think tanks, industry, philanthropic organisations and other stakeholders to provide evidence-based insights. Your expertise in understanding policy implications of your research will be crucial towards informing effective advocacy strategies.

Key Responsibilities: 
 Policy Analysis and Research:
●      Identify and analyse relevant datasets such as NSSO, NFHS, PLFS, and budget documents to draw insights for gender analysis on various aspects of policy making.
●      Engage with stakeholders, experts and practitioners to identify gaps in policy implementation from the perspective of women.
●      Develop policy recommendations to improve gender mainstreaming and support the advancement of women's economic empowerment.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

●      Engage with policymakers, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to present research findings and advocate for gender-responsive policies.
●      Communicate complex data analysis in a clear and accessible manner to facilitate evidence-based decision-making.

Qualifications required
●      Master’s degree or higher in economics, public policy, data science, or a related field with a focus on gender studies or gender economics.
●      5-6 years of experience in conducting research, data analysis, and policy development, and strong knowledge of issues around gender equality, social inclusion, and women's economic empowerment.
●      Awareness of and previous engagement with the gender ecosystem in India, including with civil society organisations and the government
●      Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data analysis in a clear and concise manner.
●      Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a strong desire to learn new skills.
●      Ability to work well as part of a team and also independently.
Fluency in English is required; fluency in other Indian languages is a plus
