- Develop, in collaboration with GenDev Colleagues, a USAID Gender Knowledge Management (KM) strategy to address knowledge management needs, inform capacity building and knowledge management processes and systems.
- Spearhead the Gender KM strategy through compilation, curation, analysis, and presentation of information and evidence, and communicating it effectively to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise and implement best practices related to knowledge management and organizational learning (KMOL) and in collaborating, learning and adapting (CLA) for GenDev and gender advisors Agency-wide.
- Lead efforts to facilitate learning by capturing and curating content in knowledge repositories, including, but not limited to, the USAID Intranet, MYUSAID Gender pages, and the USAID GenderLinks microsite.
- Support efforts of Communications Teams to maintain consistent messaging regarding gender equality and women’s empowerment KM in the Agency through KM projects, deliverables, and assignments.
- Socialize information from the knowledge management repositories, to support the overarching organizational goal of ongoing learning and analysis of knowledge and experience to provide advice on strategies, best practices, and current research and evidence in gender equality and women’s empowerment programming.
- Provide, as needed, training or facilitation on specific KM topics, practices, or systems/platforms.
- Train GenDev staff, and USAID gender advisors and POCs in other operating units, on using KM tools and filing systems.
- Actively engage in, contribute to, and learn from USAID’s KM Community of Practice and the USAID KMOL Action Group.
- Leverage stakeholder relationships and support coordination with and learning from other donors, experts, civil society and community organizations, and host governments working in gender equality and women’s empowerment to strengthen KM and CLA work.
- Support implementing USAID knowledge retention and continuity processes as staff rotate onto and off of teams.
- Support special projects as assigned.
The day-to-day management direction and oversight for this position will be provided by a designated member of GenDev staff.
As a contractor, this position will not perform “inherently governmental functions,” including the supervision of non-contractor personnel, or the signature/approval/authorization of commitments on behalf of the U.S. government.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization, plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Ph.D. in a relevant area of study.
- Experience in gender equality and women's empowerment with the with the ability to proficiently navigate complexities in gender information.
- Experience coordinating and facilitating virtual meetings- inclusive of small, participatory workshops to large-scale webinars.
- Demonstrated success in leading, coordinating, and contributing to the timely delivery of quality and technically sound knowledge management products that promote learning and collaboration.
- Experience with contemporary knowledge sharing platforms, including file sharing and collaboration platforms that can serve multiple work units.
- Sufficient understanding of data analysis skills and data analysis techniques to be able to process and present gender data, learning, and information to a variety of audiences.
- U.S Citizen and able obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance. Applicants with an active security clearance will be given preference.
