Sex workers’ rights
1. To support and improve internal communication between ESWA staff members and its members:

  • Moderate ESWA list-servs and social media communication;
    ● Assist in the development of ESWA annual report;
    ● Assist ESWA members and Staff in developing local advocacy or informational materials (petitions, articles, messages, etc);
    ● Inform ESWA members about breaking news, advocacy and training opportunities.
    ● Support members’ capacity building needs in communication work if needed.
2. To contribute to ESWA visibility and external communication on national, regional and international levels:

  • Manage public information on behalf of ESWA, including news updates about/from ESWA members (on ESWA website, Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, Linkedin, Youtube and other channels ESWA might have);
    ● Lead on ESWA’s digital campaigning activities via the use of NationBuilder Platform.;
    ● Update ESWA’s website content, using NationBuilder;
    ● Provide effective responses to inquiries for public information materials;
    ● Prepare and/or support development draft press releases, petitions and other documents;
    ● Together with ESWA team, develop statements and talking points for ESWA spokespersons for official meetings and media engagements;
    ● Collaborate in the development of messages/materials for regional campaigns or to mark the important dates, e.g. December 17, March 8 etc;
    ● Work with ESWA staff to set benchmarks for communication goals, and establish mechanisms for measuring the effectiveness of its various tools (e.g. website, Facebook, etc.) to help ESWA improve and prioritise;
    ● Assist in developing a style guide and guidelines for all ESWA online communications and resources;
    ● Support Secretariat in increasing visibility, developing advocacy campaigns and increasing ESWA visibility;
    ● Assist in structural changes to the website upon developing needs of the network.
3. To document, preserve and distribute knowledge/experiences of the network and its members:

  • Catalogue and maintain image and video gallery and publication library of ESWA.


4. Other tasks assigned by the ESWA Director or the Director of Programmes from time to time reasonably fall within the scope of the post.

Qualifications, experience and other requirements are:

  • Excellent communication skills, including a good standard of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other languages is desirable but not essential (Russian, Spanish or French);
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues faced by sex workers and national, European and international policy landscape and how it impacts sex workers;
  • Experience in the development and implementation of Digital Campaigns, including experience in using Nationbuilder or other similar tools;
  • Experience in writing for international audiences and at a variety of levels;
  • Ability to recognise and develop professional and personal boundaries;
  • Self-organisation skills, and ability to work independently, follow-up in time and multitask;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment and maintain excellent working relationships;
  • Experience of working in/being engaged in an NGO; 
  • Web and graphic design skills.
