The role
The primary focus of this role is to lead MSI UK’s internal and external communications activities. The role will work across the organisation with a range of stakeholders help determine our communications priorities and be hands-on in terms of planning and executing successful communications plans. Excellent verbal and written skills are required to ensure consistency of messaging across all channels to internal and external audiences. The Communications Manager will act as a brand guardian, working closely with departments from across MSI UK and external agencies at every step of the development of key external publications (such as a Safeguarding Report, Quality Accounts and any client-facing publications). We operate a hybrid working model that provides our colleagues with the flexibility to work both at home and within our offices.
· Ability to translate complex information and statistics into a format and language that can be understood by a wide range of people
· Ability to work with stakeholders to understand complex issues
· Ability to create compelling and engaging content
· Excellent presentation skills
· Ability to work as part of a busy, fast-paced team
· Outstanding organisational skills, including the ability to use initiative, prioritise workload, manage own time commitments and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
To perform this role, you must have the following experience:
· 5 years experience of working in communications roles
· Track record of developing and delivering communications strategies
· Proven experience in delivering high impact, engaging content
· Team leadership experience
· Experience in providing counsel and support communications activities to colleagues at all levels within an organisation
· Experience managing third-party suppliers and agencies
· Knowledge of the healthcare sector is not essential but would be an advantage
· Relevant higher-level qualification in Communications- desirable but not essential
· Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
