Gender-based violence (GBV)
Position Overview 
The People & Culture Intern will support a range of HR clerical work and related administration to ensure effective record management and smooth day to day running of all HR work within UAFAfrica. Under the guidance of the People & Culture Officer (P&C Officer), the Intern will support the portfolio to successfully meet its set objectives.

Specific Responsibilities 
•       Assisting recruitment processes by advertising vacancy announcements and data collection from the Human Resources Information Management System (HRIMS). 
•       Setting meeting appointments with various portfolios’ partners, potential candidates for various HR related meeting engagements.  
•       Support the P&C Officer with onboarding programmes for new staff members while ensuring timely completion of the various portfolio orientations and induction sessions. 
•       Support with new staff with virtual office setup processes.  
•       Support with compiling/ collecting payroll related information to enable timely processing                                
•       Setting up scheduled internal engagement e.g. monthly staff meetings.  
•       Entering new staff data in HRIS and ensuring that staff information is up to date. 
•       Maintain an up-to-date record of all staff attendance and absenteeism on the system. 
•       Minute taking in meetings and follow-up on action points. 
•       Receive emails on the portfolio email and prepare reminder schedules for both the P&C Director & Officer. 
•       Keep abreast of UAF-Africa issued human resource manuals, rules, regulations, guidelines, and circulars to enable effective, accurate and consistent administration of same. 
•       Any other tasks as dully assigned. 

 Qualifications  
•       Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, Psychology, and any other related social science qualification. 
•       Excellent written and verbal communications in English. French is a plus. 

Skills and Experience  
•       At least 2 years’ experience in human resources Management providing administrative and clerical support. 
•       Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask. 
•       Excellent communication skills. 
•       Flexibility and willingness to travel on the African continent and beyond as and when required. 
•       Demonstrated understanding of a feminist political analysis.  
•       Passionate about UAF-Africa’s mission, committed to teamwork, and achieving results. 
•       Ability to perform detailed work, frequently and/or to handle a increased volume of work systematically, optimally, and accurately. 
•       Ability to plan and self-organize effectively. 
•       Ability to contribute on a team and coordinate assignments to achieve common goals. 
•       Excellent inter-personal and writing skills. 
•       Experience working in a virtual work environment an added advantage.
